Savannah Galleries, founded in 1968 by native Savannian Daniel Kaminsky, became an extension of a ten-year collecting hobby. Mr. Kaminsky is a graduate of Emory University and attended Harvard University and George Washington University Law School. His interest in fine antique furniture and rare oriental rugs formed the basis of his expertise prior to opening, which expanded to include paintings, silver, and decorative accessories.
In order to create a diverse collection, the owner has traveled extensively worldwide. In addition, he has established an international network of contacts, providing access to estate and inventory liquidations for his museum and private clients.
Our Services
We advise clients on the appropriate selection for their room requirements, including scale, placement, and color coordination on all our antiques for sale.
We offer complete restoration services on oriental rugs, including reweaving and cleaning. We restore antique furniture, paintings, and picture frames, including gold leaf. Our extensive contact network provides us with the ability to resolve a broad variety of restoration requirements.
Our appraisal services on all antique items are available for insurance purposes or estate taxation.
We lecture on furniture styles and construction, as well as oriental rug history, weaving techniques, and design.
